The mentally draining court case between Derrick Rose and “Jane Doe” came to an end on Wednesday when the jury cleared the New York Knicks point guard and his two friends of all charges.
Back in 2013, the Plaintiff, and ex-girlfriend of Rose, was allegedly gang raped by the former MVP and his two friends in her Los Angeles home. Doe, 30, stated that she awoke to the three men having non-consensual sex with her on August 27, 2013.
The accuser’s friend, Gabriela Chavez, took the stand to testify against her and said that she was “definitely” a pathological liar who was “scheming” order tramadol from canada Rose for money, according to the New York Daily News.
After nearly four hours of deliberation, the jurors cleared Rose of all three charges.
“These guys are so far from trespassers and rapists, it’s almost comical,” said Rose’s lawyer, Mark Baute, after the trial.
Now that this off-court issue is dealt with, Rose should be making his return to the Knicks shortly.
He hasn’t been with the team for most of the preseason and has only played in one game since his trade to the Big Apple. However, he has continued to workout while in Los Angeles handling this issue.
