DeAndre Jordan is the latest athlete to join Cari Champion in an Uber and speak on a variety of obscure topics.
LeBron James‘ UNINTERRUPTED platform has partnered with Uber for an ad campaign where ESPN’s Cari Champion gives an interview while posing as an Uber driver. The skit, titled “Rolling with the Champion,” had DeAndre Jordan answer questions about his favorite in-game dunks, what it’s like being a fashion icon and how struggling bigs can become better free throw shooters, a problem that he claims he doesn’t deal with.
The four-minute clip highlights Jordan’s wittiness and distracts from the awful stretch the Los Angeles Clippers are experiencing.
A 60-second clip will air on ESPN and NBA TV starting Wednesday, and you can watch the full clip on the UNINTERRUPTED website. Champion’s first two interviews came with Chauncey Billups and Los Angeles Lakers rookie Lonzo Ball.
DeAndre looks to snap back to reality for a Wednesday night meeting with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Clippers, who are without Blake Griffin and Patrick Beverley, look to snap a three-game losing streak.
In 22 games this season, Jordan’s 10.4 points and 13.9 rebounds a night for the “other Los Angeles team” that’s currently 8-14. The recent struggles have opened up the trade speculation, and the signs seem to be pointing toward Milwaukee, even though there’s no official report.
