Teammates should have each others’ back no matter what, and the Los Angeles Lakers now know that D’Angelo Russell sticks next to his guys no matter what.
It’s no secret that Karl-Anthony Towns is the NBA’s next superstar, and a former Ohio State Buckeye knows that not many centers are better than KAT. In fact, it’s just one:
Russell’s tweet comes on the heels of Towns’ 15-point, nine rebound performance against the Charlotte Hornets Friday night. KAT has been dominating the preseason alongside Russell, and both rising sophomores are averaging greater than 17 points per game with their respective teams.
Timofey Mozgov has been quietly putting up numbers for the Lakers this preseason and is averaging 11.9 points and 8.3 rebounds per 36 minutes.
Only time will tell if Russell’s judgment pans out, but, unfortunately, he may have to take the loss on this one.
Both teams face off for the first time on Sunday, November 13 in Minneapolis, and both Mozgov and Towns will be able to go head-to-head to see who’s better.
