The former Michigan State Spartan and current Golden State Warriors, Draymond Green, was arrested on Sunday in East Lansing, Michigan for assault, according to MLive. Green was accompanied by a fellow member of the United States Olympic team.
Brenden Quinn, who first reported the story, said that there were no details of Green’s arrest.
Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth of the East Lansing police department issued this statement about the incident, “The police department is not confirming any arrest with that name. What I can confirm is that we did arrest a current NBA basketball player this weekend and he was arrested for assault. That’s all we’re confirming right now.”
Green and the Warriors are still relatively fresh from their Finals loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers that saw them squander a 3-1 lead. They had also recently signed superstar forward Kevin Durant, and Green was selected to participate in this summer’s Olympic Games in Rio.
In his fourth season in the NBA, Green evolved into an all-around primer player and set career-highs in numerous categories: points (14.0), rebounds (9.5), assists (7.4).
