LA Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin reportedly broke his hand after an incident with a Clippers’ staff member. During the Clips’ recent trip to Toronto, Griffin was out at a restaurant when he and the equipment manager got into a physical altercation.

Oddly enough, it’s reported that the players are very fond of their equipment staff, including Griffin. They man who he struck is well-liked, and Griffin has even vacationed with him.

Despite the friendliness, Blake Griffin hit the gentleman, then proceeded to follow him outside of the restaurant. He hit him again and broke his hand. The broken hand that Griffin sustained is expected to have him sidelined for a few weeks. Already missing 14 games due to a quad injury, Griffin’s return was expected during this road trip.

The Clippers are lucky, having gone 11-3 over the games BG missed. There’s no need to rush him back. Griffin’s running mate, Chris Paul, has had a great run with Griffin sidelined. CP3 is averaging over 20 points & 11 assists per game while grabbing close to five boards and two steals.

With Griffin’s extended absence, look for Luc Mbah A Moute and Wesley Johnson to continue to get extended time. As well as Chris Paul to keep up his high level of play; with J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford, and Austin Rivers to pick up the scoring load.

Despite the success that the team is having without him, this is something that’s going to frustrate the organization. Although not many details are known, it seems this situation is one that’s very avoidable and should’ve been avoided.
